Here we are - The Syed children!

I (Kate, mom) started this blog as a way of sharing stories about the kids with friends and family. Hope you enjoy!

Now, a little about us...

Quinn (4, ALMOST 5) is the big brother who will enter kindergarten in the fall. He is quirky, fun-loving and likes things a certain way! He loves blocks, puzzles and cooking, but more than anything he LOVES his little sisters. His full name is Quinn Alexander Bela Syed, with the two middle names inspired by our dear friends Alexander Mastroianni (my childhood friend) and Belle Chesler (Moin's childhood friend). Moin loves that Quinn's name allows him multiple combinations should he decide to be a world superstar. He could be Quinn Alexander, or Alexander Bela, or Bela Syed, or...you get the picture.

Now, we have Penelope (19 months).

Penelope loves anything active (swimming, sliding, climbing, gymnastics) and approaches all of those things without fear. She also loves reading books and clothes and shoes. She goes through at least four outfit changes a day, minimum. Her full name is Penelope Nasreen Syed, with the middle name inspired by her late grandfather Nasrullah Syed. It's actually quite fitting that she is his namesake as he was quite the jokester and Penelope also loves to laugh and be very, very silly.

Finally, we come to Zahra (19 months). Zahra and Penelope are identical twins.

Zahra loves music and dancing. She also loves food and is by far the most adventurous eater of the three. She is very sweet and sensitive and adores her baby dolls and stuffed animals. A complex combination of these things is required every evening for her to go to sleep. Zahra also loves to be cuddled and will often find her way into my lap without me even realizing it! Her full name is Zahra Leah Syed, with her middle name inspired by all the "Lee" people in my family. My grandmother was Ruth Lee, my sister is Kara Lee and my dad is Richard Lee. I have a cousin named Leanna and another named Leah. Finally, my niece Anna is named Anna Leah, so it seemed nice to give Z the same middle name.

And there you have it. Hope you enjoy the blog!
